台灣稻香味

Dear 徐 會長 栳 各位鄉親，

Thank you very much for sharing the video of 「台灣稻香味」. It takes me way back to my childhood days in 1940s and 1950s. With your permission and everyone's tolerance, I would like to take this opportunity to promote my newly found and

loved 「客家三行詩」and use it to express my memories with regards to rice, rice fields, ponds, water buffalos, etc., just for fun out of it, as below. BTW, you must read them in Hakka and think HAKKA to make sense, please.

講著禾香味 ﹝禾，Vo=稻﹞

牽啀看著老頭擺

田莊、姐公、禾庭 ﹝姐公=外公﹞

 

細人知屁卵

年年割禾吃膨湃

奈知種田介辛苦

細人尖坐桌

一桌全係男哺人

剩菜留分哺娘人 ﹝This is a strange and ridiculous Hakka culture, isn't it? Wonder it's still there.﹞

 
板圓有禾香

一碗淰淰撐肚屎﹝淰=滿﹞

奈有位所塞雞臂﹝雞臂=雞腿，The boys always get a piece of chicken leg as a reward from grownup.﹞

 

阿母盡會想

紙包放佇皮包肚

帶轉屋下放便當

 

學校吃便當

飯蓋雞臂粒粒香

感受六年母子情 ﹝1954-1960，Junior High and High School years.﹞

 

姐公埤塘坐

掌牛吃草唱山歌

手拿釣檳釣鯉媽

 

阿母笑姐公

釣檳直直釣冇食

釣檳長長釣豬腸

 

姐公笑細人

釣檳短短釣屁卵

釣檳彎彎釣黃鱔

This surely brings back some good memories. May I share some of yours in Hakka 3-lines? Trust me on this. It does not look harder than you see and think. There is a lot of fun. I have been enjoying doing them since last December. It will bring you joy, excitement and satisfaction. It will also perk or stimulate your brain or mind to stay away from becoming too senile. Moreover, you are doing 「保留、延續、挽救台灣客家文化、語言」a great favor. Com on, guys and gals. Please join me, Thomas, Dennis, Scott, James and Mr. Lou to promote 「客家三行詩」。What do you need? Simple. A pencil or pen, a notebook, and just you, your mind, time and effort. I am forever grateful if one or two of you out there get started today. We all can be poem pals﹝詩友﹞under Master Lou's flag.
