American Bald Eagles in Love (美國白頭鵰相愛）

As soon as the weather gets cold in Maryland, American Bald Eagles start to look for their mates and show each other their “LOVE”. We ran into this pair on the nest installed on a fishing pier in Hoopers Island, Maryland last week and took a series of shots. The following H3LPs is written just for fun out of my imagination.

I didn’t get a chance to see Taipei Mayoral debate that day. However, I learned from 「一蘋新新聞網」that 阿中部長 leads overwhelmingly in the polls of more than 10,000 people voting online right after the debate. Here’s numbers for your reference: 阿中部長（55%），黃珊珊（25%），蔣萬安（19%）.

美國（華府）萬聖節

Hi 正龍，訪英 and 宜頻，

Every October 31, both children and adult slip into the night ghouls and goblins, princesses and pirates. Many Americans celebrate the traditions of Halloween by dressing in costumes and telling tales of witches and ghosts. Children parade from house to house, knocking on doors and calling out “Trick or Treat “, hoping to have their bags filled with candy.

Fall foliage on Skyline Drive 天際公路秋色濃

Hi Thomas, Grace and Olivia,

逐年十月底，

爬上（駛車）天際公路頂（Skyline Drive, Virginia)，

爭先恐後賞秋景。

天際公路唇，

各種各樣樹葉變（色），

楓樹樹葉變最紅。

山頂秋色濃，

樹林一層又一層，

陽光下非常出色（=照出樹葉介色彩）。

企在台階上，

眼前秋意濃又濃，

看久看遠目珠矇。

Fall is the most popular time to travel along Skyline Drive, with its colorful foliage from late September to mid-November. Skyline Drive is a National Scenic Byway that runs 105 miles along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, starts from the north of the Shenandoah valley at Front Royal to Wayneboro where meets the Blue Ridge Parkway. As noted in one of photos, if raise your hands, you can almost reach and touch the sky.

雲門《十三聲》登美六大劇院

After two and half year’s COVID-19’s mess, the Cloud Gate Dance Troupe toured six cities(Houston, Washington,, DC, Chicago, Stanford University,  Costa Mesa and Berkeley, California) with 10 performances of “13 Tongues”(十三聲）. I was honored to witness one of them at Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, DC last Thursday night. With my little knowledge in any stage performance but with some experience in 「萬華/猛岬」night life during my years at National Taiwan University (1960-64 & 1965-68), here’s my H3LP to express my feedback to 13 tongues for your reference.

It’s a shock to see this scene at a  famous Japanese restaurant in McLean, Virginia when COVID-19 almost comes to the end. Two ladies wearing their face shields sit not far from our table when we had our lunch there yesterday.
