Last Monday, August 10th, I went to TECRO paying my tribute/respect and say goodbye to President Lee. It shocked and surprised me that Taiwanese diplomats there squeezed his spiritual platform in a dead end corner with a small picture(See attached photo).

Little Blue Heron
Dear Friends,
相信爾兜從來毋識看過「細蒼鷺」。The
Little Blue Heron is a close relative of the snowy egret( 白鷺鷥）. It
looks like snowy when it is young but molts to a dark slate-blue plumage
as an adult. They are only found in North and South American coasts.
Check the photos taken at North Point State Park swamp, near Baltimore,
Maryland last week to see what I mean.
美洲細蒼鷺(little blue heron)
從小到大得人惜（小=細）
羽毛雪白變深藍
成長中脱毛（molting)
白色慢慢變灰白
最後完全變藍色
Compared to great blue heron, little blue heron is smaller and little. This is probably why ornithologist(鳥類學家）call them “little blue“.

At Nordstrom, it is interesting and exciting to see that a tailor is making masks on site right at the entrance. See the attached photo yourself.

Most of you have heard about hummingbird, goldfinch and poison ivy but have never actually seen them in your life.
Here are some photos taken with my iPad for your reference.

有人喊著「三腳蛇」
看到三腳蛇
絕對不可接處著
否則歸身會Hoi (癢）死
看過蜂鳥冇（Hummingbird)
體型最細飛又遽
人工蜜汁餳會來（餳讀Xia)
蜂鳥係候鳥
初春徙移來美國
初秋飛轉中南美
As
far as hummingbird goes, here is some basic information for your
reference. 1. You do not see hummingbird in Taiwan, other Asian countries,
Africa, Europe and Australia. They live only the Americas. 2. In Native
American culture, HBs are seen as healers and bringers of Love, Good
Luck and Joy. 3. There are almost 300 species. The most common HB is the
Ruby-throated HB. 4. The heartbeat of HB is up to 1,260 times a minute
and his/her wings flap 15 to 80 times a second.
Hope you go out to see the nature and find HB for joy and good luck as well as healing the soul during COVID-19 pandemic!

接觸大自然紓壓
Just share a few photos taken at Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, Kent Narrows, Maryland with you. Note that a great blue heron, an egret and a osprey couple have a wonderful view on this tiny lake. BTW. It’s obvious to see that a male osprey is guarding his mate seating/hatching her eggs high on a man-made nest.
