虎年小確幸（Little luck in the year of Tiger)

Hi Thomas and Grace,

On May 17th, we saw this rainbow in the sky on our way home from Florida where I competed in National Senior Games(tennis) at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As far as I remember, there had one rainbow seen in the metropolitan Washington DC area for years. So let’s call this one, “little luck”(小確幸）.

華府虎年音樂會

Hi Thomas and Grace,

About 300 people attended the yearly music concert and the ceremony of scholarship award for local high school seniors last night. It’s unique, special and different one this year, i.e., trombone choir wrapped up the wonderful evening. This choir played five pieces of music including 「雨夜花」（Rainy night flower).

Flamingo 烈火鳥

Hi Thomas and Grace,

There is another surprise on this trip to Florida. It’s the first time to see real flamingos in my life. According to one of gardeners at the Flamingo Garden, Davie, Florida, it’s the mating season so that most of flamingos stay underneath palm trees.  Only one flamingo, James, came out to greet the tourists. He is very friendly and the only bird bred and raised up in the garden.

Kennedy Space Center, Florida

Hi Thomas and Grace,

On our way home from Florida on May 17th, we swung by Kennedy Space Center to see the complex which sent 6 space shuttles up into the space from 1981 to 2011. Now it becomes the most attractive spot for tourists, young and old. Share few photos including Atlantis in the background and late John F. Kennedy’s famous saying on his vision and mission then.

海明威故居 & 美國最南點，Key West, Florida

Hi Thomas and Grace,

On this trip to participate in National Senior Games in Fort Lauderdale, FL, we drove more than 1000 miles through four States(Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia) in two days. On the 15th of May, 2022, we went further down south to realize my personal dream in life: to see late Earnest Hemingway’s footsteps in Key West, Florida. Not far from his house, there is the most visited stop by tourists, called “Southernmost Point, USA”. He lived in this house from 1931 to 1939 and owned it until his death in 1961.

虎年 美國老人網球賽

Hi Thomas and Grace,

This year of Tiger, National Senior Games(once every other year since 1985 for 50 to 100 years old of citizens) is held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from May 10-23. Big Ben joined almost 1000 participants in tennis competitions.

With its slogan of “Long live the challenge”, I finally won my bronze medal after 4 days of ferocious competition.
