客家話奄奄一息

Hi, HAPA-NA 陳 會長，

Just share an article on the condition/status of Taiwan Hakka language. As indicated in the survey done by Hakka Affairs Council, the statistical figures look shocked and worrisome. 1. Less than 40% of younger(30 and younger) Hakka can listen and understand their mother tongue. Those who can speak Hakka are even less. 2. For 19 to 29 years old, it's 15.5 %. 3. For 13 to 18, it's only 7.2 %. According to 李永得 主委， among the families of 60 years old and under, less than 10 % of them speak Hakka at home. Nevertheless, the good news is that about 87 % of people in the survey are willing to 「傳承母語」.
